Japanese teacher Yoshie San

Hi, Sue

Thank you for concerning about us. Yes, I agree.
Preparedness is what we need.
By preparing, we can decrease the damage
from disasters.

Last year, my school students made a disaster safety map against Typhoon.
We found that all the trees near school and along the street are protected
by iron bars.

All the shops have strong shatters against wind and rain.
The city has the good facility for sewage.
We learned a lot by making the safety map.

Warmly
Yoshie

A hello letter to Japanese friends

Dear kiyoko and Masataka, Japan,

It's so nice to receive your mails. This is Cindy Chiu. I study in San-Min Senior High School and I am in 8 grade. I also like to watch spots, such as NBA, and MBL. My favorite baseball player is Mr. Wang, who comes from Taiwan, and he is in New York Yankee.
I hope we'll have a great time when we meet each other in Kaohsiung.

Sincerely,
Cindy Chiu

Thank you Mr. Tai, Abe and Yoshie

Dear Mr. Tai, Abe and Yoshie,

Thank you for the cordial welcomes to us. It's my pleasure to meet you in Kaohsiung in 2006 NDYS gathering. We had a wonderful time there with all the teachers and students and can't wait for the coming cooperation with you.

Tomorrow will be our first NDYS class this school year. Some key words about natural disasters will be introduced to them.

In fact, a terrible typhoon followed by floods just hit us and caused 5 people dead and great damage. Terrible! http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/south_asia/7618946.stm

Greetings from Taipei San-Min, Taiwan, to NDYS partners

Dear friends,
We are so happy to join NDYS2009. This year we have 15 students and 2 teachers, the other is Miss Kate Chang.

The following short introduction is written by one of the students, Kevin.

Hi, teachers and friends,
I am Kevin Chen, a student in class 802, Taiwan. We are the junior high school students and we are all fourteen years old. My teacher is Miss Su. She is friendly.

We joined NDYS2008 last year and we sent our bear to Pakistan.

Taiwan is a beautiful country. If you come here, you can see many people and trees. Taiwanese foods are delicious. I like beef noodles best because it tastes a little bit sour and spicy. But Taiwan has more than beef noodles, I will tell you more next time because I have to go to cram school tonight.

We are so glad to be friends with you. Keep in touch.
Kevin
p.s. I am the cute boy on the left, the other one is my classmate Willy, and the bear and other presents are for Pakistan.
